La gente buena, con sentido común no son personajes interesantes. Solo son buenos exesposos(as).
Una vez, cuando mi hija Paula era veinteañera, me dijo que el feminismo era anticuado y que yo debería dejarlo. Ese día tuvimos una pelea memorable. ¿El feminismo es anticuado? Sí, para las mujeres privilegiadas como mi hija, y todas nosotras presentes hoy, pero no para la mayoría de nuestras hermanas en el resto del mundo, quienes todavía son forzadas a casarse prematuramente, a prostituirse, a hacer trabajo forzado. Ellas tienen niños que no quieren o no pueden alimentar. No tienen control sobre sus cuerpos ni sobre sus vidas. No tienen educación ni libertad. Son violadas, golpeadas e incluso asesinadas con impunidad. Para la mayoría de las jóvenes occidentales de hoy, ser llamada feminista es un insulto. El feminismo nunca ha sido sexy, pero les puedo asegurar que nunca me ha detenido para coquetear, y rara vez he sufrido una falta de hombres. El feminismo no ha muerto, ha evolucionado. Si no te gusta el término: ¡Cámbialo!

Feminism began in North America with women seeking the right to vote, the right to be recognized as free persons and not as chattels. Morphing into equal pay for equal work. Then recognizing the needs of our sisters world-wide who live under oppressive conditions and abuse.
This has been forgotten along the way. Had it not been for the suffargettes, we could very well be in that position now. Indeed, some of us in the Americas still are!
Feminism! I agree, change the term! It is far too lax.
Female Freedom Fighters! Now … that’s a term I can live with.

AMAZING, she is definitely awesome. The best novel writer of all times. When I first started reading her books, she caught my attention, my curiosity and my heart with her passion, enthusiasm and with an unique style of telling great stories.
Isabel Allende is a great woman and a great mother too, who does everything she can just to keep her «tribe» together, full of love, understanding, embracing their differences.
It makes me really happy to see her in front of an audience talking about the passion of all women and girls around the world, fighting for their freedom and their right to be alive.
